Kudos to Scholarship Winners
Thanks to the generous support of Gin Lot Farms and Warwick and Robyn Schiller, the Summit was able to award two full scholarships to attend this fall’s event.
Steering committee member Josh McElroy and the Summit board reviewed several applicants. Here are the winners:
Raechel Loucks runs Up There, LLC, and equine facilitated learning program and teaches horsemanship at Northcentral Technical College, a technical college near her hometown of Westboro, Wisconsin.
“I’m interested in doing more for my equine team. I’m also interested in bringing evidence-based, research-driven practices back to my students at the college,” said Loucks.
Sharon Parker runs Parker Livery Stables in Warsaw, Kentucky, where she offers lessons, trail riding excursions, and therapeutic activities. She is certified with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship and Certified Horsemanship Association.
“The best thing about horsemanship is that there is always something more to learn. I’m an avid student of the horse. All that I learn at the Summit will be applied to improving my work as an instructor and improving the lives of horses,” said Parker.
We welcome Sharon and Rachael to the Summit community.
See you in October, ladies!
